Our Story
Snow State was founded in 2018 by Karl Schneider, a Penn State meteorologist with a passion for winter weather. Karl has been turning brown backyards white since the second grade, when he began making snow in northern Alabama. His passion for snow grew because of the joy it brought him and his friends, family and neighbors. Since high school, Karl has been building his own home snowmaking equipment. Now, he is proud to offer the joy of snow on demand to central Pennsylvania, in addition to a line of quality home snowmaking machines and accessories. Since moving to Pennsylvania in 2017, Karl has has made a White Christmas each year!

Snow State aims to be the leader in the home snowmaking industry. While some companies charge high prices for ordinary items, we seek to educate you about this amazing hobby so you can make an informed purchasing decision. If you choose to buy a product from us, we will configure it to work for your specific application. We do not take a “one size fits all” approach, ensuring successful operation (and lots of snow!) from day one.
